The seated figure, legs bent, arms supporting the chin, presents a face with superbly revealed features. His meditative, proud posture, seated with dignity, is superbly contrasted with the fluidity of his curved limbs, smoothing their folded movement. The entire surface of her body is engraved with a sublime decoration of circles and volutes. Harry Beran (Betel-Chewing Equipment of East New Guinea, 1988) notes that this type of decoration is extremely rare.
