[Correction to catalog] Attributed to Émile Othon Friesz (1879-1949) Entrance to Honfleur Harbor, ca. 1906 Oil on canvas On its original canvas, not lined Signature stamp lower left Signature stamp on back 44 x 29 cm PROVENANCE : - Galerie Paul PETRIDES - 53 rue de la Boétie, 75008 Paris (label on back) - Private collection, Paris NOTE: - Acquired in the early 1970s by the current owner. - A certificate from Paul PETRIDES, expert for French Customs, dated May 25, 1971, will be given to the buyer. - A letter from André SCHOELLER dated October 2, 1975, describing the work, will be given to the buyer. - A certificate from Odile AITTOUARES stating that: "In the present state of our knowledge, we are unable to confirm that this work is in the artist's hand and to include it in his archives. We currently intend to include it in the preparatory files for the supplement to the Catalogue Raisonné of the Painted Works of Émile Othon Friesz, and will not fail to return to the successful bidder in the light of the progress of our research".
