Taymans/Sam Griffith. Original plate #21 from the T2 album "L'ombre de Kipling" illustrating the hero and the flashback of his meeting with his sweetheart. India ink circa 1992. Signed and dedicated. TBE+. 50 X 38 cm After graduating from the Saint-Luc comics workshop, André Taymans (1967) worked with J.C. de la Royère to adapt L'homme aux Orchidées for the Lefrancq publishing house. Between numerous trips (South-East Asia, Andes, Amazonia, North America), he takes over from Griffo the "Munro" series, which he animates for an album with J.F. Di Giorgio, published by Dupuis. Still based on a Di Giorgio script, he drew "Les aventures de Sam Griffith" for Alpen. With Gabrielle Borile and Chantal Heuvel, he followed in the footsteps of "Alex Nora" for Le Lombard. In 1992, together with Rudi Miel, he launched "Les aventures de Charlotte", published by Casterman. Le secret des Cornacs is the first title in the series, released in 1993. It was pre-published in the daily Le Soir from April to May 1993. January 1994 saw the publication of the second title, Le rocher aux hirondelles, followed in June by La perle noire. 1996 saw the publication of Les cornes de feu. In 1995, Taymans publishes, with Di Giorgio, the first album in a new series "Bouchon, le petit cochon" Bouchon et le petit rat Missou, followed the same year by Sans abri. 1996 saw the publication of the first of 16 volumes in the "Adventures of Caroline Baldwin" series, which continues to solve the most difficult puzzles. He is also the author of "Mac Namara" (Casterman) and the illustrator of "Filles d'Aphrodite" (Glénat).
