Description
Large rectangular enfilade with central projection in molded and carved walnut. The waist features six drawers, the front opens onto six doors, the outer jambs are decorated in the round with grimacing figures standing on pedestals, the intermediate jambs are fluted columns topped with Ionic capitals, the whole resting on six ball feet at the front and four straight feet at the back. Richly carved frieze of ovals, lions' heads, medieval faces in relief, foliage scrolls, hybrid monsters, candelabras and trophies. Late 19th-century Neo-Renaissance style. 111 x 308.5 x 65.5 cm. (minor accidents and missing parts, notably the swords of the figures in the round).
