Bronze and gilt metal clock depicting a young woman in the antique style, sitting pensively next to a book and a post on which two birds are flying. On the left, a trophy with musical instruments and laurel wreath. The circular white enameled dial with Roman numeral hours signed DESFRENNE VINSON in Laon, the movement stamped VINCENTI & Cie 1855. The rectangular base with springs and rounded ends is adorned with inclined gadroons, shells, flowers and foliate scrolls. Presented on a molded, stuccoed and gilded wooden base decorated with strings of pearls. With gong and pendulum. Second half of the 19th century. 38.5 x 53 x 20 cm. (key missing, birds and trophy to be tightened, one rear foot replaced and small missing parts on base).
