Rectangular travel case in rosewood veneer and brass fillets, the lid adorned with a scrolled cartouche decorated with coats of arms surmounted by a Marquis's crown, the sides featuring two hanging handles concealed in a shell. The interior reveals a mirror and numerous compartments lined with cut-crystal toilet flasks, boxes, brushes, inkwells, fork, spoon, teaspoon and two knives, all in finely chased vermeil with foliate scrolls and a Marquis crown surmounted by a stag-headed helmet. Master goldsmith: AUCOC Ainé, inscribed in full or hallmarked on each piece of silverware, also signed on the lock. 18.5 x 37.5 x 25.5 cm. Net weight of separable vermeil: 1193 g. (one oval silver flask with lid, chased with a figure under a count's crown, mismatched, one knife with vermeil blade by Goldsmith CARDHEILAC, slight cracks to the lid, oxidation to the mirror's sheen and slight wear to the gilding, key missing).
