Description

Silver navette-shaped oil and vinegar cruet, the rim decorated with a frieze of pearl rows, the handles with stylized shells, the decanter receptacles openwork decorated with foliage scrolls and pearl drops, the whole resting on four small applied feet. The cartouche-decorated stoppers, underlined by scrolls, hold two lids. Master goldsmith: Pierre-François GOGUELY, received master on August 17, 1768. Paris, 1784. Louis XVI period. Net weight: 696.3 g. 22 x 30 x 15 cm. A pair of later blue-cut Bohemian crystal decanters covered with silver stoppers hallmarked Minerve.
