Automaton music box with whistling bird in 835-thousandths silver, each side decorated with translucent sky-blue enamels on a guilloché ground decorated with garlands of flowers, ribbon bows and doves. The lid centers a polychrome enamel miniature of Leda and the swan. The front features an oval watch with hours in Arabic numerals, mechanical movement and manual winding. A sliding knob opens the lid to reveal a bird adorned with colored feathers against a background of finely chased openwork foliage. Swiss work, circa 1900. Gross weight: 582.3 g. 4 x 10 x 6.5 cm.
