Vibrato is a periodic modulation of the sound of a musical note. The nature of this modulation (pure pitch or not) depends on the nature of the instrument and the technique used by the musician. Christian Ghion offers a musical tribute to the Djembe, an African percussion instrument consisting of a chalice-shaped wooden shaft onto which a goatskin or antelope hide is stretched using a tensioning system.
