HAWTREY CHARLES: (1914-1988) English comedy actor, best remembered for his roles in twenty-three Carry On films between 1958-72, making his debut in Carry On Sergeant. A good signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Hawtrey in a head and shoulders pose, the photograph issued as a publicity portrait for the actor's appearance in Stop it Nurse alongside Kenneth Connor and Bernard Bresslaw at the Pavilion Theatre, Torquay, in May 1972. Signed by Hawtrey in bold black ink to a light area of the background, '"Carry On" Barry, Charles Hawtrey'. Scarce in this form. A few very small, minor corner creases, VG
