LAURIE JOHN: (1897-1980) Scottish actor, best remembered for his portrayal of Private Frazer in the British sitcom Dad´s Army (1968-77). Signed 4.5 x 6.5 vintage photograph of Laurie in a head and shoulders pose. Signed by the actor in blue ink to a light area of the background. With an A.L.S., John Laurie, to the verso, thanking Mr. Smith for their kind and heartening letter and remarking ´ It´s especially pleasant to be remembered for parts played before Dad´s Army! We´re doing one final extended episode for Christmas week: that I fear will be our farewell performance´ and in a postscript signed with his initials Laurie further adds ´This is an oldish photo, I´m afraid.
