CHARIOTS OF FIRE: Ian Charleson (1949-1990) Scottish actor whose most famous screen role was that of the Olympic athlete and missionary Eric Liddell in the British historical sports drama film Chariots of Fire (1981). Signed photographs of Charleson in his most famous role are scarce as a result of his untimely death at the age of 40; Ben Cross (1947-2020) English actor, best known for his portrayal of the British Olympic athlete Harold Abrahams in Chariots of Fire.
