BRIEF ENCOUNTER: A good selection of signed 8 x 10 photographs and very slightly smaller (2) by various cast members of the British romantic drama film Brief Encounter (1945) comprising Celia Johnson (Laura Jesson; a good vintage example signed and inscribed in fountain pen ink), Trevor Howard (Dr. Alec Harvey; an excellent vintage example signed in fountain pen ink), Stanley Holloway (Albert Godby; a good example in costume as Ramshead from the comedy film The Perfect Woman), Joyce Carey (Myrtle Bagot; signed in bold blue fountain pen ink) and Irene Handl (an uncredited role as a cellist and organist; signed in bold blue fountain pen ink). Some heavy traces of former mounting to the verso of Johnson's photograph, otherwise VG to EX, 5 Considered one of the greatest films of all time, Brief Encounter was ranked by the British Film Institute in 1999 as being the second-greatest British film of all time. Johnson received a Best Actress Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of Laura Jesson.
