SABU: (1924-1963) Indian actor. A good vintage signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photograph of Sabu in a head and shoulders pose in costume from perhaps his most famous role as Abu in the British historical fantasy film
The Thief of Bagdad (1940). Signed in bold, dark blue fountain pen ink by Sabu to a light area at the base of the image. With the original printed caption neatly affixed to the verso. Signed photographs of Sabu of this size and quality are scarce, largely as a result of his untimely death at the age of 39.
