HOBSON VALERIE: (1917-1998) British actress, famous for her role as Elizabeth Frankenstein in Bride of Frankenstein (1935). Wife of British politician John Profumo. A good vintage signed sepia 8 x 10 photograph of the elegant Hobson seated in a three-quarter length pose. Photograph by Roman Freulich and bearing his Universal Pictures credit stamp to the verso. Signed by Hobson in fountain pen ink to a light area of the image and dated 1935 in her hand (the year of the release of Bride of Frankenstein). Vintage signed photographs of Hobson are surprisingly scarce and the present example is particularly desirable for the year in which it was signed. A couple of very light, extremely minor surface and corner creases, VG Roman Freulich (1898-1974) Polish-born American photographer, known for his portraits and movie stills. Freulich was the stills photographer for Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935).
