Late 17th century French school after Simon Vouet (Paris 1590-1649 Paris) The Entombment of Jesus Christ Oil on canvas 110.5 x 100 cm There are several studio versions of this subject, which was engraved by Pierre Daret in 1641: in the Musée Départemental des Vosges in Épinal, in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Brussels and the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, and in the Musée du Louvre (former collection of King Louis XVIII).
