Young Vietnamese Woman or Annamite Woman's Torso, 1943. Proof in light terra cotta (chamotte clay). Signed, located in Hanoi and dated on the base. Height Height : 84 cm. Provenance : offered by Évariste Jonchère to Paul Chauvet, Governor General of Indochina, then by descent to the current owner. Évariste JONCHÈRE, First Grand Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1925, Prix d'Indochine in 1932, executed several proofs of this torso: - 4 in terracotta, executed during the second trip to Indochina in 1944. - Several copies in reconstituted stone. - 2 bronze prints.
