During his travels in India and the Indonesian islands, he was inspired by rural and tribal life, tantric art and folk dances. Fascinated by the dynamic movements of dancers and musicians, he transcribed the rhythms of the body with an energetic, lively touch. Widely represented in public collections worldwide, his work is held at the Baroda Museum Picture Gallery, the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Victoria Albert Museum.
