A Fukkoku reprint after the series Kasen Koi no Bu (歌撰恋之部) by Kitagawa Utamaro (喜多川歌麿, 1753 - 1806) Fukkoku (reproduction) after a design by the artist Kitagawa Utamaro (喜多川歌麿, 1753 - 1806). Utamaro created a series of five ukiyo-e prints called Kasen Koi no Bu (歌撰恋之部) in 1793-94, of which the present motif is one. It depicts a lady looking forward expectantly and holding a scroll in front of her, which she has just removed from her kimono. This is probably a love letter. Framed in a passepartout.
