Description
HOLY BISHOP Tyrol/South Tyrol, early 16th century H. 72 cm Swiss pine, carved in full round. Baroque polychromy with gold stamps and gold painting, partly rubbed. Inscribed on the bottom in black: "BP (?) K 1607". Book added with right hand, fingers missing, "stone" applications carved on the miter, partly missing. Base with later additions. Black number "25" on the reverse. Damages due to age. Property of a thuringian noble family, formerly Schloß Poschwitz near Altenburg.
