[Archaeology]. Egypt. Rare two-fingered amulet, protective talisman. Black basalt hardstone. L 5.5cm. As is (visible missing). Amulet representing two joined fingers, the index and middle fingers, often found placed over the embalming incision. Here, it takes the form of the blade of a ritual adze. Amulets and adzes are linked to the rebirth ritual known as "Opening the Mouth". The priest magically revived the sense organs by touching them with two fingers and the adze. New Kingdom to Late Period (1580 - 332 BC).

The other with a wide-open mouth showing a large tongue and a row of straight teeth, and prominent eyebrows above large bulging eyes. HEIGHT 5.7 cm and 5.9 cm Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and few shallow surface scratches.
