Massive stoneware jug Westerwald dated 1776, grey stoneware salt-glazed, incised, punched and painted cobalt blue, geometric decoration of stylised blossoms in lengthwise combed rectangles on the front, overlapping pewter lid with engraved owner's monogram J.G.D. and no. 5, overlapping pewter lid, punched with lion and lamb of God with master's mark IGG, a hairline crack to the base, manufacturing defect to the front, h 27.5 cm.
