A PAIR OF ITALIAN ORMOLU MOUNTED BOIS SANTINE AND AMARANTH PARQUETRY COMMODES late 18th century 87 x 142 x 60 cm Each with a later shaped and quarter veneered Breccia marble top above a pair of bombée drawers inlaid Sens-Travers with cube parquetry on cabriole legs ending in cast sabots. The drawers of one commode with red velvet liners. Rest. with a additions, minor losses to the extremities. With the detailed trellis parquetry and the fine sculpted bronzes this outstanding pair of commodes belongs to a group which is typical for the Rome manufactory.
