A BRONZE FIGURE OF SHIVA, SOUTH INDIA, KARNATAKA, EARLY 19TH CENTURY The deity gracefully posed standing with his hands held in front, his body adorned with fine beaded jewelry, his face with a gentle smile below a curling moustache and almond shaped eyes below arched brows centered by an urna, his long pendulous ears with spiral earrings. Provenance: Indian Heritage, Paris, France, 1 May 2010 (invoice lost). Collection Particulière Française, acquired from the above, and thence by descent within the family.
