A SMALL BRONZE FIGURE OF SRI DEVI South India, 17th century. Seated in ardha padmasana on an inverted lotus base raised on a platform, the deity holding a lotus blossom in one hand, the other positioned in varada mudra, adorned modestly with a band across her chest, wearing a tall cylindrical crown on her head backed by a shirashchakra. Provenance: Indian Heritage, Paris, France, April 2010. Collection Particulière Française, acquired from the above. Established in 2006 by Frédéric Rond, Indian Heritage is a gallery specializing in Indian and Himalayan art. Located in St Germain des Prés, Paris, it offers a large selection of primitive and classical pieces. Condition: Good condition with casting flaws and extensive wear, predominantly from centuries of worship. Tiny nicks, small dents, minor losses, the base slightly warped. The bronze with a fine, naturally grown patina. Weight: 65.1 g Dimensions: Height 5.3 cm
