† A THREE-PART JADE DISK, BI, EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY China, 770-221 BC. Finely carved, the three-part disk decorated with scrolling designs and each piece is pierced with two apertures on each side for mounting. The partly translucent stone of a pale celadon hue with russet clouding, icy veining, and calcification. Condition: Very good condition, commensurate with age, with expected wear. Signs of weathering and erosions, some encrustations, small nibbling to edges, and minuscule chips smoothened over millennia. Provenance: Collection of Stephen Poulin, Toronto. Mr. Poulin is a renowned professional in the art conservation industry who has been an avid collector of archaic jades for over 40 years.
