Ɏ A HUANGHUALI LAMP-HANGER SIDE CHAIR, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. The top rail carved in the form of a curved lamp-hanger set over a curved back splat with two flanking posts extending through the seat and forming the back legs. The seat comprised of a floating panel above a humpback apron. The four rectangular legs linked by stretchers with a footrest on the front. Provenance: Masterpiece Arts House, Singapore. German private collection, acquired from the above on 29 June 1978. A copy of the original invoice accompanies this lot. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, miniscule age cracks along the seat, and few light scratches.
