A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA, QING DYNASTY China, 18th to early 19th century. Solidly cast, the bronze figure seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal with a beaded rim, holding his hands in abhaya mudra. Wearing monastic robes draped over one shoulder, the hems engraved with scrolling vines. His serene face with almond shape eyes, slender lips forming a calm smile, and hair arranged in tightly curled nodes with bright blue pigment around a jeweled ushnisha. The base unsealed. Provenance: Austrian private collection. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, casting irregularities, rubbing to the gilding, tarnishing, light scratches, and remnants of pigment.
