Cuirassier troop helmet model 1872/74, steel bomb with plume holder on left side, grenade faceplate, gaudronné crest ending in a medusa head and trimmed with a mane of black horsehair, marmoset missing, scaled chinstrap, black leather interior with eight wolf teeth, wear and oxidation, missing, headgear worn, France 3rd Republic period.

Rare Prussian Cuirassier troop helmet model 1852/67, hemispherical steel bomb with embossed rear reinforcement ring. Lobster-tail nape with brass snap ring and 11 rivets. The two-degree visor is also edged with the same visor ring, with a fine tip base held in place by four rivets (one missing). Brass mantelpiece with two holes, steel tip, brass Prussian heraldic eagle, curved scale chinstrap (15 scales) on leather settee, cylindrical chinstrap rosette, the right-hand rosette holds a serrated Prussian cockade. Bomb with slight rust foam. Black leather-covered nape, green-painted visor, black-painted bomb interior. Missing cap. Easily restorable helmet, quite rare. Used during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. Condition 2
