Republican Guard mounted troop helmet, model 1876. Steel bomb with nickel-plating residue, consisting of bomb, visor and helmet cover. The whole is encircled by a brass snap ring. Embossed brass crest with Gorgon head, topped by a black horsehair marmoset and mane, with side plume holder. Embossed brass headband with the coat of arms and motto of the city of Paris.
