"ZUSH"; ALBERTO PORTA (Barcelona, 1946). "Offeut o G. Guillot Chene", 1990. Mixed media. Signed on the back. Measurements: 63 x 33 cm; 67 x 36 cm (frame). Zush was Alberto Porta's artistic alter ego between 1968 and 2001, year in which Evru, his new character, was born. A self-taught artist, in 1975 he received a scholarship from the Juan March Foundation and J. W. Fullbright to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From the seventies onwards he participated in solo and group exhibitions that made him internationally known, and in 2000 the Reina Sofia Museum dedicated a retrospective exhibition to him. That same year he was awarded the City of Barcelona prize for the plastic arts. His work is present in public and private collections around the world, such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Reina Sofia Art Center, the MACBA, the Museum of Modern Art in Valencia and the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, among many others.
