Régulateur à secondes signé Bruet à Saint-Denis. Fin XIXe siècle. Dans une boite en placage d’acajou à vitres biseautées, un régulateur d’atelier d’horlogerie, à seconde. Grand balancier compensé aux températures de type Ellicott. Echappement à ancre de type Graham, empierré. Force motrice par poids et contre-poids placés hors du chemin du balancier. Cadran en émail annulaire, aiguilles en acier bleui. Haut. : 127cm , Larg. : 32 cm, Prof. : 10 cm Constat d’état : pièce non transformée au mécanisme, petits manques de placage d’acajou, manques, entretiens et réparations d’usage à la caisse, complet mécaniquement, entretiens et réparations d’usage au mécanisme : à nettoyer car remisé dans la famille depuis plus de 60 ans. Provenance : resté dans la descendance de l’horloger Alexandre Bruet depuis sa mise en service initiale. Note : Les Bruet sont des horlogers-inventeurs de grande qualité ayant exercé la profession de 1840 à 1900 environ. Sur trois générations ils étaient ingénieurs diplômés de l’école Centrale de Paris. On leur doit, entre autres, l’invention d’un Taximètre, appareil destiné à comptabiliser la course des voitures hippomobiles au trajet parcouru, présenté à l’approbation de Napoléon III. Ils ont exercé au 7 Rue Le Peletier à Paris, puis dans le magasin « Aux accords », successeurs de l’ancienne maison Constant, 95, Rue De Paris à Saint-Denis. Ils ont déposé de nombreux brevets consultables à L’INPI, le musée Paul Dupuy à Toulouse conserve une montre à échappement à détente pivotée offerte à Bruet Alexandre par son père et une montre à heures sautantes réalisée par Louis Bruet, élève de Delmas, en 1842. Son fils Alexandre, ingénieur de l’école centrale, prendra la suite de l’affaire, puis Alexandre 2, succèdera à son père. C’est Alexandre 2 Bruet Né le 18 octobre 1859, ingénieur Centrale promotion 1881, médaille d’or à l’exposition générale de l’industrie parisienne de 1884-1895, horloger à Saint-Denis, qui possédait ce régulateur dans son atelier. Il reçut de son père la montre à échappement à détente pivotée conservée au musée Paul-Dupuy, en félicitation de sa réception à Centrale. DENNIS OPPENHEIM (Washington, 1938 - New York, 2011). Untitled, 1987. Mixed media on paper. Signed and dated on the right side. Measurements: 96 x 126 cm; 100 x 130 cm (frame). Dennis Oppenheim was an American graphic artist and sculptor. Oppenheim was born in Washington state in 1938 and trained at the California School of Arts and Crafts. In 1966 he moved to New York, where he lived and worked until his death at the age of 72. After coming into contact with the most important generations of artists of the 20th century, he became one of the forerunners of conceptual art, pioneering as a performance artist. His public recognition came at the end of the 1960s as a representative, along with other artists, of the Land Art movement. He was one of the leading contemporary artists on the international scene. Oppenheim's work is present in more than 70 major museums, collections and public spaces around the world. In Spain, his works could be seen at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid in 2005 and also through a retrospective organized by the Cristóbal Gabarrón Museum-Foundation in Valladolid in 2004, which later traveled to the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and other cities. He also has permanent public works in three Spanish locations: Stage Set for a Film, installed in the Paseo de Zorrilla in Valladolid in 1998, Crystal Garden, inaugurated in the Madrid municipality of Navalcarnero in February 2007 and Device to Root out Evil, installed in the city of Palma de Mallorca in 1997 and which is a replica of the one made in 1966 in Venice by the same author. Oppenheim's work is present in major museums, collections and public spaces around the world.
