A LARGE RED OVERLY GLASS `DRAGON` SNUFF BOTTLE, XIANFENG MARK AND POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD A LARGE RED OVERLY GLASS `DRAGON` SNUFF BOTTLE, XIANFENG MARK AND POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD China, 19th century. Of baluster shape, finely carved through the outer ruby-red layer to the clear glass ground with two dragons chasing the flaming pearl. The neck ringed in metal and surmounted by the jadeite stopper set in metal platelet. The underside incised with a four-character Xianfeng Reign mark (1850-1861) and possibly of the period. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and minimal manufacturing irregularities. Provenance: Private French collection. Weight: 123 g Dimensions: Height 11 cm
