Edition of 550 copies, illustrated with 70 compositions by painter Charles Alexandre PICART LE DOUX (1881-1959), including 12 headpieces and 12 two-tone woodcuts, and 46 color drawings, one of which is reproduced on the cover, the others in the text. One of the first 50 copies on Japon paper (no. 5), including an original drawing, here for the illustration on page 49, and a black suite on Japon of all the illustrations. A very fine copy in a mosaic binding by René Kieffer, with a state suite of woodcuts on japon. Spine faded.
