First edition of one of Émile Zola's most famous novels, forming the eleventh volume of the Rougon-Macquart series. One of 150 numbered copies on Hollande paper (no. 107). A very fine copy bound by Charles Septier. A few scattered brown spots.

First edition. Signed autograph letter from Émile Zola "to Paul Robiquet, his devoted colleague". Paul Robiquet (1848-1929) was a lawyer and historian. (Carteret II, 488).
