Leiden F. Haaring 1692 4to: [8]-34-[2]-12-103-[1] pp. (upper margin cut, occ. spotting). Later vellum binding (sl. warping, some spots on front board). The most reliable and trustworthy source on Thailand's history written in 1638 by Jeremias van Vliet, director of the Dutch East India Company in Ayutthaya. Different from Tiele, our copy comprises: 1. the "Staats-omkeeringen", a translation from Desfarges' "Relation des révolutions de Siam en 1688" (Amsterdam, P. Brunel, 1691), 2. the "Leven en daden van de heer Constantijn Faulcon", a translation from P. d'Orleans' "Histoire de M. Constance" (Paris, 1692). These texts are bound before the main work "Naukeurige beschrijvinge van het koningrijck Siam". The work includes an elegant frontispiece featuring an elephant parade. Ref. Tiele 1169. - Cordier, Indosinica, 724. - Landwehr (VOC) 576. - STCN 833014706.
