Contemp. olive Russian leather, boards framed with a blind fillet and gilt roll-stamp, blind-and gilt-orn. spines with raised bands, marbled edges matching endpapers (some rubbing and scratching, joints of vol. I renewed, part. those of vol. II, front joint of vol. II part. split). First edition illustrated with 2 frontispieces, 8 plates, one map hand-coloured in outline and in-text ill. The English Anglican Heber (1783-1826) served as bishop of Calcutta for 3 years, from 1823 until his death. He traveled widely in the country during his stay.
