[CAYLUS, Anne Claude Philippe, comte de] Le bordel ou Le Jean-Foutre puni. Comedy in three acts, in prose. Anconne [i.e. Paris] chez la veuve Grosse Motte, aux désirs 1736 Pet. in-8°: x-[2]-67 pp. Bradel papier marbré mod. with long gilt title on spine, red tr. (upper corners slightly dulled). Fine copy. Uncommon second edition (orig.: 1732) of this play, later included in the "Théâtre gaillard" editions as early as 1776. It is attributed to the comte de Caylus (1692-1765), although it was not included in his "Oeuvres badines" (1787). Edition adorned with a fleur-de-lys fleuron on the title, bands, lettrines and culs-de-lampe. Enriched with an old photograph of a pornographic drawing, printed on albumen paper and mounted on an edge between two endpapers. Ref.
