Publ. portfolio (sl. used). Karl Bodmer (1809-1893) was a Swiss-born French artist who traveled North America with the prince Maximilian zu Wied-Neuwied in 1832-1834. There, he painted his observations of Native Americans and nature. On his return, he maintained relations with the Barbizon school. Complete set from a limited ed. of 250 numb. copies (n. 74). Incl. a burial site of the Assiniboine tribe and various animals in the woods.
