First edition of this work printed on the private press "The Bodley Head" of John Lane that launched the career of Alastair, pseudonym of Hans Henning Otto Harry Baron von Voigt (1887-1969), artist, photographer, poet and translator. Contains 43 b/w and coloured plates (one mounted). His illustrations show influence from the Decadent movement and Aubrey Beardsley, and announce Art Deco. Limited edition to 500 copies for sale in England and The United States (n. 66).
