TASSAERT, Octave Bathing woman seen from the back. 19th c Oil on canvas, 23,2 x 17,6 cm (visible), signed "O T" (craquelures). Framed. Charming painting by the French Octave Tassaert (1800-1874), whose major works are a.o. at the Louvre. Interesting contrast between the relatively detailed woman and the rough brush strokes suggesting her red garments and the plants on the river bank.
