VAN SCHUPPEN, Pieter Nicolas Le Camus. 1678 Engraving, 34,6 x 26,9 cm, signed and dated "P. Van Schuppen ad vivum delineabat / et Sculp. cum Pri. Regis 1678", on outer oval: "NICOLAS LE CAMUS EQUES SUBSIDIORUM CURIAE PRINCEPS.", on inner oval: "Offerebat Devotus cliens S.D.A.P." (trimmed on platemark, sl. browned). Laid down on paper. Good impression. Portrait of Nicolas Le Camus, Seigneur de la Grange-Bligny (1625-1715) with delicately engraved face and curls. At bottom his coat of arms with a pelican and two medallions with his monogram NLC. Le Camus was a French lawyer and President of the Court des aides in Paris. According to the inscription, Pieter van Schuppen drew his portrait from life. 1st state with dedication by the unidentified S.D.A.P. Ref. Hollstein XXVI.85.64.I (of II).
