BASAN, Pierre-François. REMBRANDT (after) The Entombment. 18th c Etching and engraving, 22,8 x 29,4 cm, laid paper, signed "Rembrandt Pinxit" (trimmed inside platemark, few parts on edges repaired). Loose under passe-partout. Before Pierre-François Basan (1723-1797) printed a large group of original copperplates by Rembrandt, he also made prints after the Dutch master. This etching after the painting at The Hunterian in Glasgow. Ref. IFF XVIIIe II.92.5.
