CHIMU, PERU, circa 1100-1400 A.D. Double-bellied singing vase, one decorated with an otter with its head symbolically pointing skyward. The other is decorated with waves and dots. Brown terracotta with metallescent highlights. H. 21 cm; L. 23 cm. Provenance: former Perceval collection, Nice, built up between 1970 and 1980.
