A hussar's sabre
dating: Second half of the 18th Century provenance: Ungheria, Curved, single-and short-false-edged blade, with wide fuller, featuring remains of engraving depicting a Turk's head followed by a long inscription (not clearly legible) on the right side; remains of engraving, even less legible, on the left side. Various pitting, especially at the tip. Brass hilt with langets featuring a rayed decoration. Straight parry quillon, stirrup guard. Long cap with rayed decoration. Handle with leather covering. Wooden scabbard with leather covering. Brass mounts decorated with rays. Two lugs.
