Description

An 1833 officer's "Albertina" sword dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Stato Pontificio, Straight, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, engraved halfway along its length with the mottoes "VIVA PIO IX" and "VIVA L'ITALIA", between raceme decorations. At the base the mark "LOLLINI IN BOLOGNA" only partially legible. Well-preserved, brass hilt of typical shape, with double-valve guard and holding ring. German silver grip (very slight defect in the centre). Leaf-carved and gilded ring nuts. Iron scabbard with brass bands and brass mouthpiece.
