An 1855 model officer's sabre with fine blade dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Italia, Slightly curved, single-and-false-edged blade, with wide fuller, featuring in the first part elegant engravings divided in sectors and partly gilded on a blue background with trophies and racemes. Tang with German mark. Iron, one-quillon hilt of typical shape. Checkered, ebony grip divided in sectors. Iron scabbard with two lugs.

Blade length without handle – 770mm. The blade width at the heel is 25mm. Sheath length – 790mm. The saber blade is steel, straight, single-edged (the combat end is double-edged, with a stiffening rib), bipartite (one fuller is wide, the second, running along the very edge of the butt, is narrow). The heel area is not highlighted. The hilt of the saber consists of a handle and a guard; its metal parts are made of brass. The scabbard of the saber is all-metal steel. Cavalry officer's sabre probably France, circa 1800, curved wedge blade with double fullers on both sides and 26 cm quillons, without maker, quillons, hilt and grip cap decorated with ornamental and floral designs, additional illegible engraving on the grip cap, Wooden grip with simple winding, metal scabbard with three brass bands with rich floral decoration and military trophies, two suspension loops, good condition for age, blade spotted, total length 96 cm.
