A 1779 Model cavalry and dragoon sword

dating: late 18th Century provenance: Francia, Long, straight, single-and short false-edged blade, with double fuller along the whole length, short tang. Iron hilt, loop-guard shaped as spirals ("fleurons"), fleur-de-lis welded between the quillon and the loop-guard. Leather-covered grip with metal wire binding, iron cap with hole for the sword knot. Leather band for the thums fixed to the loop-guard. Leather scabbard with iron and brass mounts, two lugs. Rare.
