A pair of percussion target pistols by Marieux

dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Francia, Long, octagonal, rifled and browned, 12 mm cal barrels (clean bore, clearly visible rifling), base with numbers "1" and "2", precision sight. Smooth, numbered tangs with sight. Spring locks with plate signed "MERIEUX A POITIERS". Wooden half stocks with floral-carved fore-end caps and butts with grooves following the curvature. Iron mounts, trigger guards with finger rests, butt plates ending with a spinning top. Working mechanism.
