A pair of double-barreled percussion pistols by D. Ferina

dating: 1840 circa provenance: Torino, Round, smoothbore, browned,16 mm cal barrels, signed "D. FERINA - A TORINO" at the base, with gold frame marked "CANON TORDU" among branches, rib engraved at the base and with front sight tangs with sight; forward spring locks engraved with birds and floral motifs. Wooden full stocks with knurled butts. Steel mounts engraved with hunting and floral motifs. One of two ramrods is incomplete. Small, oval, yellow-gold shield on the back.
